New Film by the Brothers Quay

I couldn't resist getting this out for people to see, as the video clip isn't easy to locate online. Here is a trailer for the Quay Brothers' new animated short film, entitled 'Maska', from the Stanislaw Lem book of the same name. Looks to be another beautiful mood piece. The intense score utilizes Krzysztof Penderecki's music.

Enjoy.

  1. Amazing piece, thank you for posting it. I watch it over and over and every time see something new.
These folks are truly brilliant and creative. With so much going on technically these days and where I am so behind myself, this shows where one can go forth with. I often try and stop to think when seeing something like this, what it takes to create such a piece. If we are lucky enough the further you look into the piece the more you will take away with you for creativity and imagination. This piece shows that it is truly infinite. This is something I always receive from your work as well. Keep up the grand work so our imaginations can open up further and further. Cheers Francesca

  2. Thanks for pointing this out. It really doesn't get any better: Stanislav Lem, Penderecki and the Brothers Quay!
If you haven't seen their collaboration with Stockhausen, "In Absentia", it is a tiny masterpiece and well worth finding.

  3. Yep, you're right, Dauvit! I've got 'In Absentia'. Have you been to the website of that museum, for the artwork of the 'insane', that shows the woman's real letters to her husband? Bone-chilling. If you haven't, I'll forward you the link when I get home.
